Lloyd’s Barbeque Company Keeps the Party Going All Week Long

In June, the Lloyd’s Barbeque Company (Mendota Heights, Minn.) held six days of festivities filled with tasty treats. A week long party with food served every day? That’s a tradition we could get used to!

Plant Manager, John Kempen kicking off weeks' celebration

Kicking off the celebrations on Monday, the Lloyd’s Barbeque Company plant manager, John Kempen, gave a presentation on the company’s legacy throughout the past 125 years and everyone received a 125th Anniversary commemorative T-shirt. For refreshments, employees enjoyed hot coffee, juice and donuts. Continuing on with the festivities, employees were given SKIPPY® P.B. Bites on Tuesday to enjoy and ice cream on Wednesday. Now those were two tasty-filled days!

Management team serving catered lunch

On Thursday, the management team served up a catered taco bar, which was enjoyed by all. Wrapping up the work week on Friday was a spectacular birthday cake. We hope everyone had a bite (or two)!

To end the celebration with a bang, all employees and up to three guests were invited to join in the fun at Valley Fair, an amusement park in Shakopee, Minn. Amongst the hustle and bustle of the rides and water park, employees also enjoyed a catered lunch.

The planning committee rolled up their sleeves and pulled off a fabulous event! In addition to all of the awesome planned activities throughout the week, they shared the journey of Hormel Foods by creating a timeline of the company history, which was placed in the employee lunchroom.

If we could all party like the Lloyd’s Barbeque team does, we think we should celebrate the 125th Anniversary every year! Way to go!
