San Francisco Furiously Feeds Community The Algona Plant Picnics
The Algona (Iowa) Plant found a fun way to celebrate the Hormel Foods quasquicentennial for everyone young and old!
The Algona Plant held their 125th Anniversary celebration in style on Sunday, July 24, on the front lawn of the plant. The event began during the lunch hour with a tasty meal of burgers, hot dogs and hot links. As is usual Hormel Foods fashion, the food didn’t stop there! Fruit, chips, broccoli salad and of course, a birthday cake, were all served.
Over 250 employees, retirees and their families attended this fun-filled event. Even community leaders and business partners attended! The team made sure that there was an activity for everyone in attendance, and a DJ provided music to add to the fun atmosphere. The children enjoyed four large inflatable games and activities, while adults played life-sized kerplunk and jenga games. A few employees were even seen on the inflatables challenging their children!
Overall, the team agreed that the celebration was a great opportunity for everyone to come together in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the Algona team for the fabulous event!
