Our Big Birthday Bash
George A. Hormel started a small meatpacking company in Austin, Minn., in 1891. Over the last 125 years, the company has grown to be one of the largest food companies in the world with some of its most iconic brands, Hormel® pepperoni, Applegate® natural and organic meats, Jennie-O® turkey, SKIPPY® peanut butter, Black Label® bacon, Wholly Guacamole® dips, Justin’s® nut butters, Hormel® chili, Muscle Milk® sports nutrition drinks and, of course, the SPAM® brand. To celebrate our 125th birthday, we invited the community in our hometown to help us celebrate.
Employees, community members and company partners gathered in downtown Austin on a perfect July evening for live entertainment, fun activities, and headlining performances by Kat Perkins and The Band Perry. Attendees had the opportunity to sample Jennie-O® turkey tacos, Muscle Milk® smoothies, Applegate® hot dogs and a variety of SPAM® recipes. There were photo booths, face painters, mini golf, a sports arena, and more.
